White Cherry Blossom Kintsugi Bowl

This white ceramic bowl with cherry blossoms made in Japan was broken and repaired using Kintsugi, the Japanese art of mending pottery with gold. The cracks aren't hidden. They're celebrated as proof that we are whole not in spite of our scars and imperfections but because of them.

The cracks are real. The repair is done by hand, every line traced with a brass metal blend that creates a gold effect finish nearly identical to real gold. Photos don't do it justice, you'll see.
